Offering seven double bedrooms across two fully staffed and catered character properties set in extensive, lush tropical gardens, we are the perfect weekend or pre- or post-safari escape; an ideal location for small family or corporate events; and probably the most accessible birding location in Uganda.

Around 120 separate bird species, including Grey Crowned Cranes, Hornbills, Sunbirds, Raptors and Lovebirds, have been recorded in and around our grounds, and we offer a range of fully guided house-based or wider birding packages.

Martha’s Farmhouse and Martha’s Barn can be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Our Story

Where heritage is honoured and legacy is lived. Martha’s Farmhouse is rooted in the story of Martha, who, after being orphaned at a young age, held onto and protected her land through decades of uncertainty with quiet strength and unwavering belief. From that foundation grew Martha’s Farmhouse, Martha’s Barn and our coffee, all shaped by her resilience and connection to place. Today, this legacy lives on as a refined countryside experience where guests from around the world come to rest, gather and reconnect, surrounded by nature, birdsong and the enduring spirit of the land.

Where we are

Martha’s Farmhouse and Martha’s Barn are based in Genda Village, Naama, Mukono District, along Kayunga Road.

We are approximately 1.5 hours from Kampala, Uganda’s capital, and 1.5hours from Entebbe International Airport, making travel to and from the Farmhouse straightforward. The properties are also around one hour from the Source of the Nile in Jinja, allowing guests to combine countryside relaxation with iconic Ugandan experiences.
