Rooted in Heritage. Defined by Luxury.
Uganda’s perfect countryside birding retreat.
Conveniently situated in beautiful countryside midway between Kampala and Jinja, Martha’s Farmhouse and Martha’s Barn are an unexpected oasis of comfort and calm.
Offering seven double bedrooms across two fully staffed and catered character properties set in extensive, lush tropical gardens, we are the perfect weekend or pre- or post-safari escape; an ideal location for small family or corporate events; and probably the most accessible birding location in Uganda.
Around 120 separate bird species, including Grey Crowned Cranes, Hornbills, Sunbirds, Raptors and Lovebirds, have been recorded in and around our grounds, and we offer a range of fully guided house-based or wider birding packages.
Martha’s Farmhouse and Martha’s Barn can be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Our coffee garden also produces top-quality vanilla and fresh, organic fruit and vegetables for guests staying at both Martha’s Farmhouse and Martha’s Barn.
Every bite and sip is a reflection of our commitment to quality, sustainability and local flavours. The plantations also provide employment for the communities.
