Giving Back to the Community
Support During the Shutdown
When schools closed during the shutdown and risks to young people increased, Lutengo Youth became a vital anchor. The programme helped young girls facing underage pregnancies find guidance, support and pathways back into education. At the same time, it kept boys engaged and away from drug abuse through routine, mentorship and teamwork. At a moment of uncertainty, sport became a lifeline.
Bursaries and Opportunity
Through this programme, we identify families struggling with school fees and provide bursary support where it is most needed. Football motivates. Education unlocks opportunity. Long-term change follows when young people are given consistency, care and belief.
Guests Getting Involved
Guests who wish to are welcome to observe training sessions or volunteer their time. These interactions are always respectful and optional, but often become some of the most meaningful moments of a stay.
At Martha’s Farmhouse, giving back is not an add-on. It is part of how we exist in this landscape. From the beginning, we committed to ensuring that our presence creates opportunity, stability and hope for the young people who grow up around us.
The Power of Sport and Education
Through football, we helped establish Lutengo Youth, a local community initiative that supports up to 100 young people. Training offers more than sport. It provides structure, discipline and belonging, while reinforcing one clear message: stay in school and keep your future open.
Football becomes the hook. Education remains the goal.
